Thanks to the diligence of my mother, who still has some of my artwork from first grade, the picture of me and the mop was discovered.
The photo is in bad shape with lots of scratches on it. I tried to tweak it a little so you can see all of the details. In this one, I lightened it so you could see the dress.
This one I darkened so you could see the detail of the line drawing on the face.
Yes. Dork runs deep in my blood.

And oh those glasses!
What a great photo.
I think you were a cute dork! And your date, what lovely features...
I'm so glad you found a picture. This is better than I could have ever imagined.
She was probably more interesting than a lot of the girls at your prom. Nice pics.
NoR, I am a still a big fan of huge glasses that encompass my entire peripheral vision. However, I also like it when people refrain from asking me if I'm Elton John's love child.
R*, awwwww, you make me blush. I was obviously dating up, she was quite lovely. Knowing my mother, the face drawing might be in a scrapbook somewhere.
Susan, I am to please. Thank my mom. I went over to the folk's house and looked for the picture for a few hours before giving up. My mom continued on and off for the next few days until she found it.
Churlita, the thing I remember the most about girls at my prom is that they all seemed to be dating guys in their 20s. When I turned 23, I joked that I was finally old enough to date a high school senior.
LOL!
you never did say, where did you get the dress? or did you and i just missed it?
Heather - It belongs to my mom. Just didn't want the whole story to take a creepy tone with me dating someone in my mom's clothes and all.
oh yeah, like ~that's~ gonna be what scares us off? fat chance. your readers are made of heartier stuff than that.
you're surrounded by a bunch of women with brass balls, there buddy. we only hang out with the courageous guys ya know. ;)
ours are just carried a little higher, that's all.
Heather, you rock.
RT, hats off with gratitude to your mom once again.

Hi bro!
Although I do so like your smiling face, put something new up dammit!
One more post (in draft form right now) and then the Christmas letter and that will probably be it for the year. Just want to set expectations.
