I think a lot of it had to do with the circumstances. The client was in a place where time was more important than money. And, let's face it, I am cheap.
I do listen to the Negotiating Tip of the Day podcast, though, and it helped me with the confrontation. I am passive-aggressive and non-confrontational by nature. The fact that I called the lawyer back instead of ignoring him and hoping that he would just go away is proof that I now have mad confrontation skillz.
Well played!
ReplyDeleteI need to learn how to do this and skip all the negotiating.

right, good luck remembering those 'mad confrontation skillz' the next time you do something mrs mrt has told you time and again not to do.
ReplyDelete;)
Next time I have to deal with the man, I'm calling you.
ReplyDeleteChurlita, I am typically the one who deals with the man. I do live with him, after all.
ReplyDeleteAnd Heather, oui, the mad confrontation skillz are a work in progress. It's fun to watch. :)
